HomeMy WebLinkAbout11131RESOLUTION NO. 11131 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO AND MOTOROLA, INC., TO PROVIDE AND INSTALL ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT FOR A RADIO TOWER AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT BUILDING AT THE CITY'S GOAT HILL RADIO TOWER SITE, 801 MURRAY STREET, IN THE AMOUNT OF $390,000 AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo, a municipal corporation, is acquiring and building a new radio system for use by public safety and other government radio users in the Pueblo area, and BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The Agreement between the City of Pueblo and Motorola, Inc. to provide and install electronic radio equipment, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved. The President of City Council is hereby directed and authorized to execute the Agreement in the name and on behalf of the City and the City Clerk is directed to affix the seal of the City thereto and attest same. SECTION 2. Funds will be expended from Project CP0704, Radio Upgrade /Tower Construction. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution BACKGROUND The Agreement would provide for the acquisition and installation of electronic radio equipment for the radio tower site the City is constructing at the City's Goat Hill radio tower site, 801 Murray Street. Council approved a contract to begin construction of the tower structure and equipment building, but not the electronic radio equipment, on July 9, 2007 (Resolution 11050). This agreement would allow the completion of the tower facility. The contractor, Motorola Inc., is the sole provider of electronic radio tower equipment compatible with the State of Colorado's Digital Trunked Radio System. FINANCIAL IMPACT The electronic radio components would be acquired and installed at a cost not to exceed $390,000. Funds from a lease purchase agreement will be available in project CP0704.
