TITLE
A RESOLUTION APPROVING PHASE I OF THE MOUNTAIN PARK
ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER'S RENOVATION, DESIGN, AND CONSTRUCTION
PLANS OF THE PUEBLO MOUNTAIN PARK HORSESHOE LODGE
BACKGROUND
The Mountain Park Environmental Center (MPEC) approached the City regarding the
possibility of using the Horseshoe Lodge at the Pueblo Mountain Park (PMP) for their
educational programs and activities relating to the environment. Currently, the MPEC
and its operations are housed at the old Caretaker House that is located on the property
at PMP. MPEC would like to expand their programs of education, and their current
location is not sufficient enough for this accommodation. In order to utilize the Lodge,
the MPEC will need to do improvements to the property and the structure itself before
proceeding. MPEC is currently in the process of raising money for this project and has
collected to date, $463,695. The project has three (3) phases and funding has been
collected to begin and finish Phase 1. The projected construction costs for this
endeavor is $443,557 with the work being performed by Redfern Construction.
