HomeMy WebLinkAbout11116RESOLUTION NO. 11116 A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTIONS 14 AND 15.1(a) OF THE LEGISLATIVE PROCEDURES AND RULES OF COUNCIL RELATING TO MEETINGS BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: (brackets indicate matter omitted, underscoring indicates matter added) SECTION 1 Section 14, Special Meetings, of the Legislative Procedures and Rules of Council is hereby amended by the addition of the following new subsection (c): u Public Forum will be held prior to the commencement of all meetings of the City Council as an Executive Committee held on the first or third Monday of any month. No invocation or pledge of allegiance shall be required for meetings of the City Council as an Executive Committee. SECTION 2 Section 15.1(a), Order of Business, of the Legislative Procedures and Rules of Council is amended by deleting Public Forum therefrom as follows: (5) [Public Forum (limit [30] minutes)]. SECTION 3 This Resolution will become effective upon final passage and approval. BACKGROUND The City Council is considering changing the allotted time for citizens to address the Council for public comment. The Public Forum is for citizens of the Pueblo community to bring forth issues and concerns pertaining to the City of Pueblo. Currently, the Public Forum is scheduled during the regular meetings of the Council, which take place the second (2 "d ) and fourth (4 ) Mondays of the month, which start at 7 p.m. This action will amend the City Council Legislative Procedures and Rules of Council and change the current process. With approval of this Resolution, the Public Forum will be moved to the first (1 and third (3` Mondays of the month commencing before the work session of the Council as an Executive Committee. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution. FINANCIAL IMPACT None.
