TITLE
A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING $ 800,000.00 GENERAL REVENUE FUNDS FOR THE
COMMUNITY SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE PROCESS FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ALLOCATING CITY MONIES TO NON - PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WITHIN THE CITY
AND COUNTY OF PUEBLO FOR THE 2008 FISCAL YEAR
ISSUE
The Community Services Advisory Commission (CSAC) was created in 2004 for the purpose of
assisting with funding requests and recommending allocations to non -profit organizations in the
City and County of Pueblo. When the process began in 2004, the City and County gave unequal
amounts to this process, and separate contracts for City funds and County funds were utilized.
Subsequently, since 2005, a Joint Partnership Funding Agreement was entered into by the City
and County, and all agencies involved with the CSAC process currently receive an equal amount
of funding from both government bodies. In 2006, the City Council designated 1.5% of General
Fund revenue, which amounted to $900,000 for the 2007 fiscal year.
At the City Council Budget Retreat held on August 14, 2007, it was discussed by the Council
that a fixed dollar amount, instead of a percentage amount, of General Revenue Fund should be
allocated to the CSAC process. This Resolution will designate a fixed amount per Council's
consensus for the 2008 fiscal year.
None.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
For the ending fiscal year 2007,-it is estimated at this time, the City will collect $64,528,435 in
General Fund Revenue $800 will be designated in the General Fund for the
CSAC process if Resolution is passed.
