HomeMy WebLinkAbout11053RESOLUTION NO. 11053 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING (3) CITY PARCELS OF LAND TO THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR ROADWAY WIDENING PURPOSES BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The Quit Claim Deeds from the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation (Grantor) to the Colorado Department of Transportation, copies of which are attached hereto, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, are hereby approved and the President, of City Council is authorized to execute and deliver the Quit Claim Deeds in the name of the City. SECTION 2. The City Clerk is directed to cause said Quit Claim Deeds to be recorded in the office of the Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder. TTTLE A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING THREE (3) CITY PARCELS OF LAND TO THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR ROADWAY WIDENING PURPOSES ISSUE Should the City Council transfer three (3) city owned parcels of land to the Colorado Department of Transportation for roadway widening purposes at the intersection of Pueblo Blvd (SH45) and Prairie Avenue for improvements associated with the La Bella Piazza Subdivision. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution BACKGROUND The approval of the La Bella Piazza Subdivision and the construction of Lowe's within the subdivision requires the developer to widen the intersection of Pueblo Blvd (SH45) and Prairie Avenue to accommodate the increased traffic volumes generated by the development. The widening of the intersection necessitated the developer acquire additional property from private property owners on the northwest, northeast and southeastern corners of the intersections. The deeds, having been approved and accepted by the City, will need to be transferred to the Colorado Department of Transportation prior to construction at the intersection beginning.
