ISSUE
Should City Council authorize the filing of an application for a United States of America
Department of Transportation grant to assist with air service marketing at Pueblo
Memorial Airport.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The Small Community Air Service Development Program uses federal funds to support
communities working to attract or improve air service. If the City is awarded a grant
under the Small Community Air Service Program, the funds will be used to enhance air
service by improving and expanding the marketing program. The grant funds and local
contributions will go toward an innovative marketing campaign designed to increase use
of the airport.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The United States of America Department of Transportation will give priority to
proposals from communities that contribute financially to the project. Funds in the
amount of $190,000 have been requested. The following is a list of the proposed project
costs:
Federal Grant
$190,000
Local Cash Contributions:
City of Pueblo
$
20,000
Pueblo County
$
20,000

Total Cash Contributions:

essential air service with Great Lakes Aviation.
