A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF
$218,000.75 AND SETTING FORTH $30,000.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES, TO NIEBUR GOLF
INC., FOR THE FY 2007 4 AND ABRIENDO STORM SEWER INTERCEPTOR PROJECT AND
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME, ESTABLISHING
PROJECT SW0701. AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS THERETO
WHEREAS, competitive bids for the FY 2007 4 AND ABRIENDO STORM SEWER
INTERCEPTOR PROJECT have been received and examined, and;
WHEREAS, the proposal of NIEBUR GOLF INC., of Colorado Springs, Colorado was the
lowest of those bids determined to be responsive;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
A contract for the FY 2007 4th and Abriendo Storm Sewer Interceptor Project be, and the
same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $218,000.75.
SECTION 2.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, A
Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the
same.
SECTION 3.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as
stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work.
SECTION 4.
Contingencies and Additional Work .... $30,000.00
Project SW0701, 4th and Abriendo Storm Sewer Interceptor, is hereby established. Funds
for this project shall be transferred as follows: $85,932.00 from SW0503 and $162,068.75 from
SW0601.

ESTABLISHING PROJECT SW0701, AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS THERETO

Should City Council award a construction contract for the FY 2007 4 and Abriendo Storm Sewer
Interceptor to Niebur Golf Inc., for $218,000.75.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution
The project will consist of the construction of approximately 700 LF of 30" reinforced concrete pipe,
manholes, and associated asphalt and concrete removal and replacement on West 4 Street near Abriendo
Ave. The proposed pipe system will ultimately tie -in to the proposed storm sewer system constructed as
part of the new 4 Street Bridge Replacement Project. This �roject will mitigate existing flooding
problems both upstream and downstream of the intersection of 4' and Abriendo by providing additional
hydraulic capacity in the existing Cleveland /Arthur storm sewer. This project will be funded from the
Storm Water Enterprise for $218,000.75.
Attached is a bid summary showing the result of competitive bids on this project.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding for this project will be taken from the Storm Water Enterprise fund. Funding is available
and was appropriated in the 2007 budget, capital improvement projects SW0503 and SW0601.
