A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE ASSESSMENT OF COSTS FOR THE DEMOLITION AND
REMOVAL OF A STRUCTURE AND BUILDING UPON PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE
CITY OF PUEBLO, AND SETTING A DATE FOR COUNCIL HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provision of Chapter 13 of Title IV of the Pueblo Municipal
Code and Chapter 8 of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings (IBC), as
adopted and amended, the Director of Public Works has caused the demolition and removal of a
building and structure located at 2719 4th Avenue found to be dangerous; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has filed his report with respect to the costs
thereof with the City Clerk, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:
SECTION 1
A hearing on assessment of such costs and on any property owners' or agents' complaints,
objections, or protest to the costs of demolition and removal of a building and structure is hereby
scheduled to be held before the City Council on Monday, the 26 day of March, 2007,
commencing at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, #1 City Hall Place, Pueblo,
Colorado, 81003.
SECTION 2
The City Clerk shall notify the owners or agents of the property to be assessed, as shown in
the report of the Director of Public Works, that such demolitions and removal have been
completed, and specifying:
(a) The entire cost of demolition and removal plus notification and filing costs;
(b) That any complaints, objections, or protest shall be made IN WRITING by the owners
or agents, to the City Council and filed in the office of the City Clerk prior to the time set
for hearing as indicated in Section 1 of this Resolution.
(c) That upon the day and hour for hearing, the City Council will hear and pass upon the
report of the Director of Public Works, together with any objections or protests which
may be filed by any person interested in or affected by the proposed assessment of
costs.

ISSUE
Should the City Council set a hearing date for the assessment of costs incurred by the
City for demolition of a dangerous structure located at 2718 4` Avenue.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
Pursuant to Chapter 13 of Title IV of the Pueblo Municipal Code and Chapter 8 of the
Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings (IBC), the Building Official
has determined that a building within the City was in dangerous condition, and after
giving proper notice to the owners, requested the City to demolish the building. This
building has now been demolished, and the costs incurred by the City have been
compiled and are included in the report to City Council by the Director of Public Works,
which is attached to this Resolution.
Upon passage of this Resolution, all property owners and others who may hold an interest
in the property will be notified by the City Clerk, pursuant to instructions by the City
Attorney, of the hearing time, date, and place where they may voice their complaints,
objections, or protests to the assessment of costs. This hearing will coincide with the
public hearing for the assessment ordinance.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The cost of demolition, removal, and incidentals have been expended from the CDBG
Fund which were budgeted for the demolition of structures. All funds which are
recovered through this assessment procedure, a possible $18,673.25 will reimburse this
fund.

PURSUANT TO THE UNIFORM CODE OF
ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS
DATE: February 12, 2007
Pursuant to Section 4 -13 -2 (s) of the Pueblo Municipal Code, a building has
been demolished by the Department of Public Works at the request of the Pueblo
Regional Building Department. This building was demolished by private contract,
under standard Public Works contractual procedures.
In accordance with Section 4 -13 -2 (w) of the Code, listed below is the affected
property, an itemization of costs incurred by the City to abate the dangerous
conditions, and a list of persons who may have an interest in the property.
