HomeMy WebLinkAbout10864RESOLUTION NO. 10864 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $1,000 FROM THE CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2006 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE OUT OF CYCLE REQUESTS TO FUND THE GRAND OPENING ACTIVITIES OF THE BESSEMER HISTORICAL SOCIETY'S STEELWORKS MUSEUM BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The transfer of $1,000 from the Contingencies Account in the 2006 General Fund budget to the Out of Cycle Requests Fund is hereby approved. SECTION 2. Said funds shall be disbursed from the Out of Cycle Requests Fund to fund the grand opening of the Bessemer Historical Society's Steelworks Museum. INTRODUCED November 27, 2006 BY Randy Thurston Councilperson APPROVED: President of Cit Council ATTESTED BY: CITY CLERK po-�. # 1o8 &� L) ^� \A Background Paper for Proposed RESOLUTION AGENDA ITEM # 3 DATE: November 27, 2006 DEPARTMENT: OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER DAVE GALL[, CITY MANAGER DOUG FITZGERALD, ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER TITLE A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $1,000 FROM THE CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2006 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE OUT OF CYCLE REQUESTS TO FUND THE GRAND OPENING ACTIVITIES OF THE BESSEMER HISTORICAL SOCIETY'S STEEL WORKS MUSEUM ISSUE The Bessemer Historical Society will be having the grand opening of their Steel Works Museum on January 18, 2007, which will include 4 days of subsequent activities honoring the history of all the people that worked at the CF &I over it's 121 year history. The activities include a Ribbon Cutting, Educators Reception Open House, donor reception, and fundraising dinner. This grand opening will be the first phase of the project that includes 6,500 square feet that will include a community room, community computer lab, and exhibit rooms for steel and medical exhibits. In addition to the $1,000 donated by the City, the County will be donating $1,000 to these grand opening events. RECOMMENDATION Resolution at the recommendation of Councilman Aguilera. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds in the amount of $1,000 will be transferred from the Contingencies Account in the 2006 General Fund Budget (see attached spreadsheet for the balance in the contingencies account).
