HomeMy WebLinkAbout10853RESOLUTION NO. 10853 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSES ADVISORY PLANNING COMMITTEE AND APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THIS ADVISORY PLANNING COMMITTEE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, THAT: SECTION 1. There is hereby established and created the Municipal Golf Courses Advisory Planning Committee (the "Committee ") to serve as an advisory committee to the City Council. The Committee shall consist of a total of five members to serve without compensation. The City Council shall appoint the members of the Committee. Two (2) members will represent Elmwood Golf Course, one (1) of which shall be an annual pass holder and one (1) shall be representative of the daily green fee golfers (both must reside within the City Limits); and two (2) members will represent Walking Stick Golf Course, one (1) of which shall be an annual pass holder and one (1) shall be representative of the daily green fee golfers (both must reside within the City Limits); and also one (1) member who resides outside the City Limits, but is a resident of Pueblo County. Members shall be appointed for a one -year term beginning in November 1, 2006 and ending October 31, 2007 SECTION 2. The mission of the Committee is to establish a 5 -year plan for the two Pueblo Municipal Golf Courses that will prioritize needs for course maintenance, equipment and improvements and identify related recommended funding sources. The Committee shall continue to meet on an annual basis beginning in 2008 in order to conduct annual reviews of the two municipal golf courses. SECTION 3. The committee shall have not regular staff or budget but may request administrative assistance from the city manager. SECTION 4. The following individuals are hereby appointed to the Municipal Golf Courses Advisory Planning Committee to serve a 1 -year term expiring October 31, 2007: Tammy S. GALLI, CITY MANAGER TITLE A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSES ADVISORY PLANNING COMMITTEE AND APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THIS ADVISORY PLANNING COMMITTEE ISSUE Should the City Council appoint citizens of the Golfing Community to the Municipal Golf Courses Advisory Planning Committee to establish a 5 -Year Plan for the two Municipal Golf Courses that will prioritize needs for course maintenance, equipment and improvements and identify related recommended funding sources? Approve the Resolution and appoint committee members. Membership will consist of a total of five members and will be appointed by City Council. Two (2) members will represent Elmwood Golf Course with one (1) being an annual pass holder and one (1) representing the daily green fee golfers (both must reside within the City Limits); and two (2) members will represent Walking Stick Golf Course with one (1) being an annual pass holder and one (1) representing the daily green fee golfers (both must reside within the City Limits), and also one (1) member who resides outside the City Limits, but is a resident of Pueblo County. The term of the committee will be for one year, from November 1, 2006 to October 31, 2006 and meetings will be held once a month. Appointed Committee Members will be required to meet with the golfing public as needed to solicit input and prioritize course needs and will also be asked to meet on an annual basis beginning in 2008 in order to conduct annual reviews of the two municipal gold courses. FINANCIAL IMPACT None.
