A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO APPROPRIATE $150,000 IN THE 2007 BUDGET FOR THE
PURPOSE OF MATCHING $50,000 RAISED BY THE UNIVERSITY PARK HOMEOWNER'S
ASSOCIATION AND THEIR EFFORTS TOWARD A UNIVERSITY PARK ENTRY -WAY
LANDSCAPING PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Council encourages the beautification of the City of Pueblo by citizens,
the business community, neighborhood associations, and other civic organizations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, along with the University Park Homeowner's Association,
recognizes the need to improve the infrastructure and beautify the entranceway to the University
Park Subdivision for aesthetic purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council will assist the University Park Homeowner's Association with a
financial contribution towards their efforts to improve their neighborhood and its streetscape
amenities.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
City Council recognizes the need to improve and beautify the entranceway to the University
Park Neighborhood with the intent of a one -time financial contribution.
SECTION 2.
City Council appreciates the efforts and desires of the University Park Homeowner's
Association to improve the entranceway to their neighborhood and intends to financially assist with
this endeavor from the City of Pueblo's 2007 budget.
SECTION 3.
City Council hereby intends to appropriate $150,000 in the 2007 budget for the University
Park Entry -Way Landscaping Project.
SECTION 4.
This resolution shall become effective upon final passage and approval.

UNIVERSITY PARK ENTRY -WAY LANDSCAPING PROJECT
ISSUE
The University Park Homeowner's Association (UPHA) has approached the City Council
about the possibility of the City assisting with a landscaping project at the entranceway of
the University Park subdivision. The UPHA has verbally committed to raising $50,000
through fundraising and donations, with a request of the City to match this money with
$150,000. This money will be utilized for a streetscape project that has been an ongoing
concept with the UPHA since the year 2000. Maintenance of the project will be the sole
responsibility of the UPHA with no further commitments financially from the City
regarding expansion of the project or the necessary landscaping upkeep.
RECOMMENDATION
This Resolution is at the recommendation of Councilmember Vidmar.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The 2007 City of Pueblo Budget will have a one -time line item allocation of $150,000 for
this project. There are no further financial commitments toward this project in the future.
