TITLE
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
ISSUE
Should City Council appoint a member to the Planning and Zoning Commission to complete the term
expiring July 1, 2007?
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the Resolution and appoint a member to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Section 2 -5 of the Charter of the City of Pueblo states, "If any member of a board or commission
appointed by City Council shall absent himself from three (3) consecutive regular meetings of the board
or commission, such office is automatically declared vacant." Due to the removal of Commissioner
Robert Avila, a vacancy now exists on the Planning and Zoning Commission. (See attached letter from
Chairman Wm. David Lytle.)
An advertisement was published in the Pueblo Chieftain on Sunday, September 10, 2006 seeking
volunteers to serve on this committee and the following individual submitted an application:
Warren J. Diodosio
The City Clerk's Office also contacted two applicants who recently applied for this committee (June
2006) to see if they would like to have their applications resubmitted for further consideration. Both
gentlemen stated they were still interested in being considered for appointment. Their questionnaires
are also attached.
