TITLE
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $12,500 FROM THE
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2006 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE
OUT OF CYCLE REQUESTS TO FUND THE RELOCATION OF AN AQUILA
ELECTRICAL OVERHEAD POWER LINE TO UNDERGROUND ON CITY
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 100 SOUTH MAIN STREET
ISSUE
The construction of the municipal parking structure will be located at 100 South Main St.
between HARP and D Street. It is necessary to remove an overhead Aquila Power line
pole and place it underground in order to accommodate the construction needs of this
structure. The City is going to pay half of the cost for the power line relocation while the
adjacent landowner, Mr. Louie Carleo, will pay the other half of the relocation costs. The
total cost for this service performed by Aquila is $25,000, which reflects the incremental
cost of burying the power line rather than moving it.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the Resolution.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $12,500 will be transferred from the Contingencies Account in
the 2006 General Fund Budget (see attached spreadsheet for the balance in the
contingencies account).
