A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $426,747.96
TO TONY J. BELTRAMO & SONS, INC. AND SETTING FORTH $49,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES,
FOR THE SANTA FE AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT NO. 06 -022 (PL0503) AND
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME
WHEREAS, one proposal for the Santa Fe Avenue Improvements Project, No. 06 -022, has
been received and examined; and
WHEREAS, the proposal of Tony J. Beltramo & Sons, Inc. of Pueblo, Colorado, was the
only bidder and has been determined to be responsible.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The contract for the Santa Fe Avenue Improvements Project, No. 06 -022 be, and the same
is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $426,747.96.
SECTION 2.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute the Contract on behalf of Pueblo, a
Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the Seal of the City thereto and attest same.
SECTION 3.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as
stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies.
Contingencies -- $49,000.00
SECTION 4.
Funds in the amount of $475,747.96 shall be paid from Capital Project No. PL0503.

ISSUE
Should the City Council Award a construction contract in the amount of $426,747.96 to
Tony J. Beltramo & Sons, Inc. for the Santa Fe Avenue Improvements Project and set
forth $49,000 for contingencies?
Approval of the Resolution.
The Pueblo Downtown Association has been actively spearheading the enhancement of
Santa Fe Avenue from 0 Street to a Street in cooperation with the City since
December 2003. The goal of the project is to continue the streetscape improvements
north on Santa Fe Avenue from the streetscape in front of the Arts Center completed in
1994. Santa Fe Avenue is the 1 -25 Business Loop through the downtown and the
improvements in this area will enhance the route along Santa Fe Avenue and the
entrance from the Interstate at 6"' Street.
The Santa Fe Avenue Improvements Project, No. 06 -022 will consist of the
improvement of the intersections of 5"' Street and 6"' Street only. The project will install
sidewalk and curb neck outs for A.D.A. and pedestrian crossings, storm inlets,
decorative paving, seating walls and landscaping.
General Contractor, Tony J. Beltramo & Sons, Inc., was the only contractor that
submitted a Bid. The Bid was received, examined and found responsible. The Bid was
in the amount of $426,747.96 and was within 10% of the Engineer's estimate. An
amount of $49,000 is recommended for contingencies and additional work.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $475,747.96 for the project have been budgeted and
appropriated and are available in Capital Project No. PL0503.
The project is funded by grants from the Department of Local Affairs, Energy Mineral
Impact Assistance Fund, EIAF #4725 in the amount of $425,000 and the Colorado
Department of Transportation, Enhancement Program, STE M086 -047 in the amount of
$125,000. City Streets Department Overlay Program funds in the amount of $100,000
are being used for the local match.
