Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation to K.R. Swerdfeger Construction, Inc. in the
amount of $41,323.00, and setting forth contingencies in the amount of
$5,000.00?
RECOMMENDATION
Approve this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The Pueblo Airport Sanitary Sewer System that was constructed in 1992 has
manholes and liftstations that are showing signs of deterioration and are
producing offensive sewer odors. This is caused by hydrogen sulfide gases in
the wastewater. In order to prevent further deterioration and stop sewer odors,
the City's Wastewater Department intends to apply a protective epoxy coating to
the inside of the manholes and liftstations to alleviate the deterioration and seal
the lids of the manholes.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds for this project are available from the Sanitary Sewer Collection System
Improvement Fund, and have been appropriated as reflected in the approved
2006 Budget.
