A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $4,000 FROM THE CONTINGENCIES
ACCOUNT IN THE 2006 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE OUT OF CYCLE REQUESTS TO
FUND THE GANG PREVENTION AND EDUCATION EFFORTS OF THE PUEBLO POLICE
DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The transfer of $4,000 from the Contingencies Account in the 2006 General Fund budget
to the Out of Cycle Requests Fund is hereby approved.
SECTION 2.
Said funds shall be dispersed from the Out of Cycle Requests Fund to fund the gang
prevention and education efforts of the Pueblo Police Department.

EDUCATION EFFORTS OF THE PUEBLO POLICE DEPARTMENT
ISSUE
In recent months, there has been an increase in gang activity in the City. In order to
combat this arising problem, the Pueblo Police Department will spearhead an educational
and prevention effort to inform the public of the gang dilemma and how to recognize
when gang activity is present or starting in their neighborhoods. This allocation of
money will purchase flyers detailing the educational and prevention information from the
Police Department and will be distributed as an insert in the Pueblo Chieftain.

Funds in the amount of $4,000 will be transferred from the Contingencies Account in the
2006 General Fund Budget (see attached spreadsheet for the balance in the contingencies
account).
