TITLE
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
PUEBLO AND RTA ARCHITECTS FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
ASSOCIATED WITH THE A.D.A. ACCESSIBILITY DESIGN AT EL CENTRO DEL
QUINTO SOL
ISSUE
Should the City Council enter into an agreement with RTA Architects
for the purpose of performing architectural and engineering services for the A.D.A
accessibility design at El Centro del Quinto Sol.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The agreement between the City and the Department of Justice requires that the El Centro
del Quinto Sol community center building be made more accessible for persons with
disabilities. This contract will provide the architectural and engineering services
necessary to design and oversee future construction of A.D.A accessibility improvements
at El Centro del Quinto Sol.
The City advertised a Request for Proposals and received responses from two firms. A
selection committee evaluated the proposals and deemed RTA Architects as the most
qualified.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The cost of this service is $58,000 and will be paid from Project No. CP0504. An
additional $12,000.00 is requested for unforeseen additional design work beyond the
original scope of work.
