A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $67,122.00
TO ABC ASSOCIATES, INC. AND SETTING FORTH $6,712.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR
THE ELECTRICAL - MUNICIPAL COURT RELOCATION PROJECT NO. 06 -043 (CP0604) AND
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME
WHEREAS, four proposals for the Electrical — Municipal Court Relocation Project, No. 06-
043, have been received and examined; and
WHEREAS, the proposal of ABC Associates, Inc. of Pueblo, Colorado, was the low base
bid and has been determined to be responsible.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The contract for the Electrical — Municipal Court Relocation Project, No. 06 -043 be, and the
same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $67,122.00.
SECTION 2.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute the Contract on behalf of Pueblo, a
Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the Seal of the City thereto and attest same.
SECTION 3.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as
stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies.
Contingencies -- $6,712.00.
SECTION 4.
Funds in the amount of $73,834.00 shall be paid from Capital Project No. CP0604.

PROJECT NO. 06 -043 (CP0604) AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO
EXECUTE SAME
Should the City Council award a construction contract in the amount of $67,122.00 to
ABC Associates, Inc. and set forth $6,712.00 for contingencies work for the Electrical —
Municipal Court Relocation Project?
Approval of this Resolution.
The Municipal Court Relocation Project consists of remodeling the west end of the
existing City owned D &RGW Freight Station building. The majority of the remodel work
is being performed by the Department of Public Works, Building Division. The electrical
and mechanical ductwork was required to be bid due to the lack of available skilled City
work force in the department. The electrical and mechanical ductwork is necessary for
occupancy of the building for Municipal Court.
The Project Bid consists of the Base Bid for Electrical Work with Add Alternate No. 1,
including IT cabling and Add Alternate No. 2 Mechanical Ductwork.
ABC Associates, Inc. submitted the low Total Bid of $67,122.00 which included the
electrical installation in the amount of $37,421.00 and the add alternate bids as follows:
Add Alternate No. 1: Cabling for IT in the amount of $4,726.00 and Add Alternate No. 2:
Mechanical (Ductwork) in the amount of $24,975.00 (see attached summary).
The Department of Planning and Community Development will be responsible for
project management and HGF Architects, Inc. are the consulting project architects.
Construction is scheduled to begin immediately upon execution of the Contract.
Municipal Court will be able to move into the remodeled space by the middle of August
of this year.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $73,834.00 shall be paid from Project Number CP0604
