A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $5,000 FROM THE CONTINGENCIES
ACCOUNT IN THE 2006 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE OUT OF CYCLE REQUESTS TO
FUND THE ACTIVITIES OF THE PIKE COMMEMORATION EVENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The transfer of $5,000 from the Contingencies Account in the 2006 General Fund budget to
the Out of Cycle Requests Fund is hereby approved.
SECTION 2.
Said funds shall be dispersed from the Out of Cycle Requests Fund to fund activities
associated with the Pike Commemoration event.

CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2006 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE
OUT OF CYCLE REQUESTS TO FUND THE ACTIVITIES OF THE PIKE
COMMEMORATION EVENT
ISSUE
The Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce and Destination Pueblo are commemorating
the bicentennial of Zebulon Pike's journey and exploration of the American Southwest.
The funds requested by the Pueblo Chamber and Destination Pueblo will be used to
provide the infrastructure that is needed to close streets and to make the July 15 Pike
Commemoration a success. This event includes activities to educate citizens of Zebulon
Pike and to honor his legacy.
RECOMMENDATION
Resolution at the request of Councilman Chostner.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $5,000 will be transferred from the Contingencies Account in the
2006 General Fund Budget (see attached spreadsheet for the balance in the Contingencies
Account).
