TITLE
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO,
A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND WALKER PARKING
CONSULTANTS /ENGINEERS, INC. FOR PARKING CONSULTING SERVICES TO
PREPARE A STUDY AND REPORT FOR THE HISTORIC ARKANSAS RIVERWALK
OF PUEBLO PARKING STRUCTURE AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY
COUNCIL TO EXECUTE SAME
Should the City Council enter into an agreement with Walker Parking
Consultants /Engineers, Inc. for the purpose of preparing the study and report phase of
the HARP Parking Structure?
Approve the Resolution.
As a part of the agreement with the Professional Bull Riders Association (PBR) the City
has committed $2,000,000 to construct a parking garage and commit 108 parking
spaces for use by the PBR.
Walker Parking Consultants will review the number of parking spaces required by PBR,
along with the site constraints and other program issues related to the garage. Next,
they will evaluate alternative parking layouts, traffic circulation, ramping systems,
vehicular entry/exits and pedestrian portals and prepare conceptual drawings and cost
estimates. Finally, they will then compare and contrast the options and develop a
strategy with the City to meet the parking requirements for the PBR.
This study is needed to finalize the City's parking commitment with PBR and will take
approximately three weeks.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The cost of these services will not exceed $12,000 plus $3,000 for contingencies.
Funding for this study will come from the one -half cent sales tax fund for the PBR
project.
