AND SETTING FORTH $2,500.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES, TO REPLACE THE MEMBRANE ROOF OF THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING AT THE JAMES R. DIIORIO WATER RECLAMATION FACILITY AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for REPLACING THE MEMBRANE ROOF have been received and examined, and; WHEREAS the proposal of ATHEY BEAMAN COMPANY, INC. of Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsive; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO. that: SECTION 1. A contract for REPLACING THE MEMBRANE ROOF OF THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING AT THE JAMES R. DIIORIO WATER RECLAMATION FACILITY be, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $25,114.00. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. Contingencies and Additional Work ......... $2,500.00 SECTION 4. Funds for said project shall be from the Sewer User Fund. DIIORIO WATER RECLAMATION FACILITY AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME. ISSUE Should the City Council award a contract to replace the membrane roof of the administration building at the James R. Dilorio Water Reclamation Facility to the Athey Beaman Company, Inc. in the amount of $25,114.00, and setting forth contingencies in the amount of $2,500.00? RECOMMENDATION Approve this Resolution. BACKGROUND The Administration building at the James R. Dilorio Water Reclamation Facility is 18 years old. In addition to administrative offices, the building houses the compliance and process control laboratory and the main control room. The laboratory houses equipment used for chemical and biological analyses, and the control room houses computers that are part of the SCADA system that monitors plant processes. The roof of the building has begun to leak, and repair is needed to prevent damage to equipment and files. Bids were received from three local firms. The bid summary sheet is attached. The Athey Beaman Company, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds for this project are available from the Sewer User Fund.
