ISSUE
Should the City Council award a contract to replace the membrane roof of the
administration building at the James R. Dilorio Water Reclamation Facility to the Athey
Beaman Company, Inc. in the amount of $25,114.00, and setting forth contingencies in
the amount of $2,500.00?
RECOMMENDATION
Approve this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The Administration building at the James R. Dilorio Water Reclamation Facility is 18
years old. In addition to administrative offices, the building houses the compliance and
process control laboratory and the main control room. The laboratory houses equipment
used for chemical and biological analyses, and the control room houses computers that
are part of the SCADA system that monitors plant processes. The roof of the building
has begun to leak, and repair is needed to prevent damage to equipment and files.
Bids were received from three local firms. The bid summary sheet is attached. The
Athey Beaman Company, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds for this project are available from the Sewer User Fund.
