AND SETTING FORTH $4,728.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR PROJECT NO. 05 -063 (CD0504), FY 2005 MITCHELL PARK BASKETBALL COURT (CDBG) AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO. 05 -063 (CD0504), FY 2005 MITCHELL PARK BASKETBALL COURT CDBG) have been received and examined, and; WHEREAS, the proposal of ALCALA CONSTRUCTION AND SERVICES, INC., Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1 A contract for PROJECT NO. 05 -063 (CD0504), FY 2005 MITCHELL PARK BASKETBALL COURT CDBG) be, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $33,002.00. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. TITLE A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,002.00 TO ALCALA CONSTRUCTION, AND SETTING FORTH $4,728.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR PROJECT NO. 05 -063 (CD0504), FY 2005 MITCHELL PARK BASKETBALL COURT (CDBG) AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME ISSUE Should City Council award a construction contract for Project No. 05 -063 (CD0504), FY 2005 Mitchell Park Basketball Court (CDBG) to Alcala Construction for $33,002.00. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND This project will consist of converting the existing tennis court into a basketball court, installing (2) two basketball standards with backboard, rim and net, re- surfacing the existing basketball court and the new basketball court with a two (2) inch asphalt overlay, crack filling, paving fabric, striping and other miscellaneous items as specified in the plans and the specifications. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funding for this project will be paid from the Community Development Block Grant Funds (CD0504). Attached is a bid summary showing the results of competitive bids on this project.
