TITLE
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $25,000 FROM THE
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2005 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO
THE OUT OF CYCLE REQUESTS TO FUND THE PUEBLO ZOO IN ORDER
TO OFFSET THEIR OPERATIONAL COSTS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE
2005 FISCAL YEAR
ISSUE
The Pueblo Zoo is currently facing financial shortfalls for the remainder of the
2005 fiscal year. The Pueblo Zoo is one (1) of six (6) organizations funded
directly by the City Council and not through the Citizen Services Advisory
Commission (CSAC). In 2004, the Pueblo Zoo received $453,260 for operational
expenses, $428,260 through the budget process and an additional $25,000 by
separate appropriation. In the 2005 budget, $428,260 was appropriated.
RECOMMENDATION
Resolution requested by Councilman Chostner.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $25,000 will be transferred from the Contingencies
Account in the 2005 General Fund Budget (see attached spreadsheet for the
balance in the contingencies account).
