TITLE
A RESOLUTION OF ENDORSEMENT AND SUPPORT FOR THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A FRONT RANGE COMMUTER RAIL SYSTEM ALONG
THE FRONT RANGE CORRIDOR OF COLORADO FROM THE CITY OF
PUEBLO TO THE CITY OF FT. COLLINS
ISSUE
The transportation needs for the Front Range Corridor of Colorado have been
growing dramatically due to increased travel for work, school, special events, and
other purposes. In order to meet these increasing need, it is being proposed by
the Colorado non - profit corporation, Front Range Commuter Rail (FRCR), to
construct a passenger rail service from the cities of Pueblo and Ft. Collins. The
FRCR has been formed to bring counties, cities, towns, transit agencies, and
planning organizations into a governing district or authority to initiate and operate
the commuter rail system that will offer service between Ft. Collins, Denver,
Colorado Springs, and Pueblo. The funding of the Front Range Commuter Rail
System will involve a mix of public and private funds.
