TITLE
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $9,362 FROM THE
CONTINGENCY FUND TO THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT OPERATING BUDGET
TO PAY FOR OUTSTANDING FEES FOR THE ROADWAY IMPACT FEE STUDY
ISSUE
Should City Council authorize a payment in the amount of $9,362 from the Contingency
Fund to TischlerBise, Inc. for outstanding fees?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The contract for the Roadway Impact Fee Study was approved by City Council on July
22, 2002, and funds for this project were placed in the Public Works operating budget.
Because the funds were placed in an "operating" budget, the unspent funds in the
amount of $53,639 were not rolled over into Public Works' operating budget for the next
fiscal year, but were instead returned to the General Fund.
Based on preliminary findings of the study, the consultant determined that impact fees
are not a feasible funding mechanism for the City of Pueblo, and recommended that the
City study the feasibility of a transportation utility.
City Council decided not to pursue the study of a transportation utility and to cancel the
remainder of the study. TishlerBise, Inc has submitted a final bill attached hereto in the
amount of $9,362.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Final payment in the amount of $9,362 will be paid from the Contingency Fund.
