HomeMy WebLinkAbout10284RESOLUTION NO. 10284 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE CANVASS AND ABSTRACT OF VOTES CAST AT THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 2, 2004 AS PART OF THE COORDINATED GENERAL ELECTION WHEREAS, the canvass of the Special Municipal Election held on November 2, 2004 has been completed and the Board of Elections has unanimously passed a Resolution certifying the votes and declaring the results of voting at said Special Municipal Election; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The Resolution of the Board of Elections certifying the votes and declaring the results at said Special Municipal Election, a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby approved; and the designation of results therein contained are hereby accepted and adopted. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. RECOMMENDATION Approval BACKGROUND Pursuant to Section 5 -1 -115 of the Municipal Code, Members of the Board of Elections met as part of the Pueblo County Election Canvassing Board. The Canvassing Board consisted of representatives from the City, the County, School District 60, the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. Following the Canvassing, the Designated Election Official, Chris C. Munoz, Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder, issued the Official Abstract of Votes signed by each member of the Canvassing Board. Pursuant to Section 5- 1- 119(1) of the Municipal Code, an abstract of votes was prepared by the City Clerk and approved by the Board of Elections (see attached). Question 2F the greatest number of votes cast were "YES," therefore, QUESTION 2F PASSED. Question 2G the greatest number of votes cast were "YES," therefore, QUESTION 2G PASSED. Question 2H the greatest number of votes cast were "YES," therefore, QUESTION 2H PASSED. Question 21 the greatest number of votes cast were "YES," therefore, QUESTION 21 PASSED. The statements from the abstract of votes prepared by the City Clerk is hereby approved and each member of the Board of Elections shall affix his or her signature thereto, certifying same to be correct and shall endorse and subscribe on such statements their certification of determination required by Section 5-1- 119(1) of the 1971 Code of Ordinances of the City of Pueblo, as amended.
