A RESOLUTION APPOINTING SEAN TAPIA TO THE
PUEBLO CITY - COUNTY LIBRARY DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, the Committee for Appointments to the Pueblo City /County Library Board of
Trustees met on August 12, 2004 and has reviewed the questionnaires and conducted interviews
of the applicants, and;
WHEREAS, it is now the desire of the Pueblo City Council to ratify the appointment made
by this Committee. NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:
SECTION 1 _
Sean Tapia is hereby appointed as a member of the Pueblo City- County Library District
Board of Trustees to complete the term expiring December 31, 2006, vacated by the resignation of
Jimmy Newmoon Roybal.
SECTION 2_
This Resolution shall become effective upon final adoption and passage.

ISSUE
Should City Council ratify the appointment of Sean Tapia, which was made by the Committee
created to appoint Trustees to the Pueblo City /County Library District, to complete the term expiring
12/31/2006 vacated by the resignation of Jimmy Newmoon Roybal?
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the Resolution.
BACKGROUND
Committee members consisting of Council members Gilbert Ortiz and Randy Thurston and County
Commissioners Matt Peulen and John Klomp met on Thursday, August 12, 2004. Following a review
of the questionnaires and interviews with each of the applicants, the Committee selected Sean Tapia
to fill the vacancy on the Board of Trustees of the City/County Library District to complete a five -year
term expiring December 31, 2006.
The City Council and the Board of County Commissioners shall ratify the committee's appointment by
separate action, by two - thirds majority of the members of their respective bodies.
