A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER OF THE PUEBLO CITY COUNCIL TO THE
COMMITTEE WHICH APPOINTS TRUSTEES TO THE PUEBLO CITY/ COUNTY LIBRARY
DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:

Pursuant to §24- 90- 108(2)(e) C.R.S., the following member of the City Council is hereby
appointed to the committee which appoints Trustees to the Pueblo City /County Library District
Board of Trustees subject to ratification by the City Council and Board of County Commissioners:
Gilbert Ortiz
SECTION 2
The foregoing appointment shall terminate upon the occurrence of the earlier of (a) an
individual appointed no longer serves as a member of City Council, or (b) the adoption by a
majority vote of the City Council of a Resolution changing such appointment.

ISSUE
Should the City Council appoint a City Council member to the committee that appoints Trustees
to the Pueblo City /County Library District Board of Trustees pursuant to §2490- 108(2)(e)
C.R.S. Subject to Ratification by the City Council and Board of County Commissioners?
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the Resolution and Appoint a Council Member to the Committee.
Resolution Number 9763, dated January 13, 2003, originally appointed Council Members
Randy Thurston and Al Gurule to this Committee. Currently Mr. Thurston is a member and due
to the fact Mr. Gurule is no longer on City Council there is a vacancy and it is necessary to
appoint another Council member to the committee. Vacancies on the Board of Trustees of the
Pueblo City/County Library District are to be filled by appointment pursuant to the procedures
set forth in §2490- 108(2)(e) C.R.S., which are outlined and explained in the attached
December 12, 2002 memorandum from the City Attorney.
