HomeMy WebLinkAbout10182RESOLUTION NO. 10182 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $27,335.00 TO ALCALA CONSTRUCTION AND SERVICES, INC., AND SETTING FORTH $4,085.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR THE FY 2004 ARTHUR PARK IMPROVEMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for the FY 2004 Arthur Park Improvements have been received and examined, and; WHEREAS, the proposal of Alcala Construction and Services, Inc., of Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for the FY 2004 Arthur Park Improvements is hereby awarded to Alcala Construction and Services, Inc. in the amount of $27,335.00. .qFr.T101\1 9 The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. Approval of this Resolution. The Arthur Park Improvement project consists of removing the existing asphalt parking lot and replacing it with new park improvements (see attached location map). Due to the bids received, the project will be divided into two phases. This first phase will include the removal of the asphalt, the installation of curb and gutter, topsoil placement and a concrete base for a sculpture that is being donated by a locale artist (see attached "Final Bid Summary — Base Bid" only). The second phase will complete the park with irrigation and plant material. The neighborhood committee will request a grant from CDBG's for FY 2005 funds. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds for this project in the amount of $31,420.00 will be paid from Community Development Block Grant Funds, Project Code CD0242.
