Sagona INTRODUCED June 28, 2004 70 TID I ID ED Background Paper for Proposed RESOLUTION AGENDA ITEM # DATE: JUNE 28, 2004 DEPARTMENT: CITY CLERK GINA DUTCHER, CIVIC TITLE A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE SISTER CITY COMMISSION ISSUE Should City Council appoint three members to the Sister City Commission to serve the 4 -year terms expiring July 1, 2008? RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution There are three terms expiring on the Sister City Commission on July 31, 2004. Incumbents Jack Quinn and Manuel Sarmiento have indicated that they would like to be considered for reappointment. Mr. Quinn and Mr. Sarmiento were appointed to the Commission in 1985. Since Incumbent Darlene Armijo did not reapply, the City Clerk's Office tried to contact her at the last known phone number we have on file, however she was no longer at that number. An advertisement seeking volunteers to serve on this committee was published in The Pueblo Chieftain, on Sunday, June 6, 2004 and the individuals listed below submitted an application and are attached for your review.
