BACKGROUND
The City has a significant investment in infrastructure. Accurate records and efficient
maintenance of City facilities require a good foundation of information. A Global
Positioning System (GPS) will allow the City to provide high quality mapping and
records to contractors and the general public.
The Global Positioning System (GPS) will utilize a network of twenty-four (24) satellites
to find the most precise coordinates to any given point. This will, in turn, give the City
the exact location of any particular facility with very little margin of error. The GPS
equipment will allow City employees to perform topographical surveys with shorter man -
hours and higher levels of accuracy for planning construction projects.
Attached is a bid summary showing the result of competitive bids on this project.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds for said project shall be expended from the State Revolving Loan Fund for
sanitary sewer improvements.
