HomeMy WebLinkAbout10068RESOLUTION NO. 10068 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $135,070 AND SETTING FORTH $13,507 FOR CONTINGENCIES TO WATERFORD CORPORATION TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE INSTALLATION OF SECURITY GATES AT PUEBLO MEMORIAL AIRPORT UNDER FEDERAL AIP PROJECT NO. 3 -08- 0046 -22 AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS, proposals to install security gates at Pueblo Memorial Airport have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal of Waterford Corporation Technologies was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for the Pueblo Memorial Airport Security Gates Project is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $135,070. SECTION 2. In addition to the amount of the bid, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. Contingencies and Additional Work: $13,507 SECTION 3. Funds for said project shall be expended from Capital Project No. AP0302. SECTION 4. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. TITLE A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $135,070 AND SETTING FORTH $13,507 FOR CONTINGENCIES TO WATERFORD CORPORATION TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE INSTALLATION OF SECURITY GATES AT PUEBLO MEMORIAL AIRPORT UNDER FEDERAL AIP PROJECT NO. 3 -08- 0046 -22 AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME ISSUE Should the City Council award a construction contract to Waterford Corporation Technologies to install security gates at Pueblo Memorial Airport. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND City Council accepted a Federal grant for the installation of security gates at the Airport on August 11, 2003 under City Ordinance No. 7040. Bids were requested and received with Waterford Corporation Technologies submitting the lowest bid. The FAA has been apprised of the bids and is in concurrence with the project being awarded to Waterford. FINANCIAL IMPACT The bid amount is $135,070, which is lower than anticipated. A 10% contingency fund is requested for a total cost of $148,577. The Federal grant was for $248,551. The Federal grant will pay for 90% of the project or approx. $133,719. The local matching funds will be $13,507 or 10% of the project costs. The funds have been appropriated under Capital Project No. AP0302.
