ISSUE
Should the City Council award a construction contract to Waterford Corporation
Technologies to install security gates at Pueblo Memorial Airport.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
City Council accepted a Federal grant for the installation of security gates at the Airport
on August 11, 2003 under City Ordinance No. 7040. Bids were requested and received
with Waterford Corporation Technologies submitting the lowest bid. The FAA has been
apprised of the bids and is in concurrence with the project being awarded to Waterford.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The bid amount is $135,070, which is lower than anticipated. A 10% contingency fund is
requested for a total cost of $148,577. The Federal grant was for $248,551. The Federal
grant will pay for 90% of the project or approx. $133,719. The local matching funds will
be $13,507 or 10% of the project costs. The funds have been appropriated under Capital
Project No. AP0302.
