BACKGROUND
The statue base for the Diana Statue has been constructed by private funds. The statue
was delivered to Pueblo from Chihuahua, Mexico our Sister City and erected. The
account for Capital Project No. CP0003 has a balance of $38,000, which is available for
this project.
The original three tiered fountain and planter was removed for the placement of the Diana
Statue in front of the Union Depot. The original fountain is in storage to be relocated to
the comer of 3r Street and Main. A fountain was once in the plan for the 1970's design of
the Main Street Streetscape but was never funded. The relocation of the fountain would
require the construction of a new basin/planter, new electrical and water service and
fountain mechanical system including lighting. An initial survey has been made by the
City Public Works.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $20,000 shall be transferred from Project CP0003 to Project
CPO412. Maintenance funds for the fountain will have to be budgeted in 2005 and
thereafter.
