HomeMy WebLinkAbout09620RESOLUTION NO. 9620 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A WARRANTY DEED FROM THE OWNERS OF THE PROPERTY AT 420 WEST 29 STREET, PUEBLO, COLORADO BEING A PORTION OF LOT 1, BLOCK 4, P.F. SHARP'S ADDITION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The warranty deed dated June 10, 2002 from Michael R. Cozzetta and Susan M. Cozzetta, a copy of which is attached hereto, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved and accepted. Three thousand ninety six dollars ($3096.00) is authorized to be expended from the Transportation Department budget for the purchasing of the property. ' SECTION 2. The City Clerk is directed to cause said warranty deed to be recorded in the office of the Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder forthwith. SHARP'S ADDITION. ISSUE Should the City Council accept a warranty deed from the property owners at 420 West 29th Street? RECOMMENDATION Approval of Resolution BACKGROUND This warranty deed accepts 387 square feet of real property at southwest corner of 29th Street and Greenwood Street. This property will be incorporated into the public right -of -way for the purpose of widening 29th Street from Elizabeth Street to I -25. Construction for the widening is anticipated to begin in approximately two months by First National Bank who will be requesting a building permit for the construction of a bank. FINANCIAL EVIPACT The City has offered and the owner has accepted an offer of $3,096.00 for the property. The funds for this property acquisition will be taken from existing Transportation funds.
