HomeMy WebLinkAbout09598RESOLUTION NO. 9598 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $34,455.25 AND SETTING FORTH $6,891.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES FOR THE INSTALLATION OF DURABLE PAVEMENT MARKINGS ON NEWLY OVERLAID ROADWAYS WITHIN THE CITY OF PUEBLO WHEREAS, the proposal for "Durable Striping Material — City Overlay ", project number 02 -046 CP0209, has been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal of United Rentals Highway Technology, of Denver, Colorado was the lowest of the bids determined to be responsible; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for "Durable Striping Material — City Overlay ", project number 02 -046 CP0209, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $34,455.25. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is herby established for contingencies. Contingencies - - - $6,891.00 SECTION 4. Funds for said project shall be from project CP0209. RECOMMENDATION Approval of Resolution BACKGROUND This contract would allow the City to install durable pavement markings, including lane lines, crosswalks and stop lines on roadways newly overlaid by the Public Works Department. The durable markings will provide a brighter marking in nighttime conditions and a longer life of 5 years as compared to 8 months with pavement marking paint. FINANCIAL IMPACT All expenditures for this contract will be charged project CP0209.
