A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND RATIFYING A
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF
$87,266 BETWEEN PARKER EXCAVATING CO., AND THE
CITY OF PUEBLO, AND SETTING FORTH $17,453 FOR
CONTINGENCIES FOR THE BLOCK 36, LAKE MINNEQUA
ADD. — EMERGENCY SANITARY SEWER REPAIR
(PROJECT NO. 02 -035)
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The contract for the Block 36, Lake Minnequa Add. — Emergency Sanitary Sewer
Repair, dated March 18, 2002 by and between Parker Excavating and City of Pueblo,
be, and the same is hereby approved, confirmed and ratified in the amount of $87,266.
SECTION 2.
All action heretofore taken by the City Administration with respect to the Contract
and Repair of Block 36, Lake Minnequa Add. — Emergency Sanitary Sewer Repair be,
and the same is ratified, confirmed and approved.
SECTION 3.
In addition to the amount of the contract as set forth, as aforementioned, an
additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies
and additional works.
Contingencies and Additional Work ----- $17,453
SECTION 4.
The project will be financed by the Sewer User Fee Fund, account number 525-
4140 - 432.43 -01 (WW0203).

ISSUE
Should the City Council approve a Resolution approving and ratifying a construction
contract for Project No. 02 -035, Block 36, Lake Minnequa Add. — Emergency Sanitary
Sewer Repair, to Parker Excavating, Inc. for $87,266.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
This was an emergency contract undertaken by the City due to a collapsed sewer main.
Three bids were received for this construction. A copy of the bid summary is attached.
This project has replaced a broken and settled sanitary sewer main in the alley of the
2100 block of Routt Avenue and Spruce Street, and construction is nearly complete.
Construction of this project could not wait for formal council approval.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The project will be financed by the Sewer User Fee Fund, account number 525 -4140-
432.43-01 (WW0203).
