A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF
CITY COUNCIL TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
AETNA U.S. HEALTHCARE FOR DENTAL INSURANCE
FOR CITY OF PUEBLO EXEMPT, POLICE AND GENERAL
SERVICE EMPLOYEES FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 2002
WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo has offered a dental insurance plan to its exempt,
general service and police employees since 1976, and
WHEREAS, Aetna U.S. Healthcare (formerly The Prudential Insurance
Company) has provided these services to the City of Pueblo since 1976, and
WHEREAS, Aetna U.S. Healthcare is willing to provide such services in 2002
under the same conditions and with a 4.9% employee premium increase over 2001,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The President of the City Council is authorized to enter into an agreement with
Aetna U.S. Healthcare for a dental insurance plan for City of Pueblo exemmpt, general
service and police employees for the calendar year 2002 in form approved by the City
Attorney.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall become effective immediately.

ISSUE
Should the City of Pueblo enter into an agreement with Aetna U.S. Healthcare for
dental insurance for the calendar year 2002.
RECOMMENDATION
The Director of Human Resources recommends this resolution be approved.
BACKGROUND
Aetna U.S. Healthcare (formerly Prudential Insurance) has provided dental
insurance for exempt, police and general service employees since 1976. Aetna
is willing to provide such services in 2002 under the same conditions and with a
minimal premium increase over 2001.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
None. The City's contribution is capped.
