AMOUNT OF $18,550.00 TO JAY FURNEY CONSTRUCTION, AND
SETTING FORTH $750.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT TEST TANK PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME
ISSUE
Should City Council award a construction contract for Fire Department Test Tank Project
to Jay Furney Construction, for $18,550.00.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
This project will construct an underground concrete tank at the Fire Department Training
Site to facilitate the testing of the pump system on the City's Pumper trucks. The tank
will be filled with approximately 10,000 gallons of water. The pumper truck will be
connected to the tank and water will be drawn from the tank, through the truck's pump
system and discharged back into the tank. Currently, water has to be drawn from a
muddy pond, which contaminates the truck's pump system and storage tank.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds for this project will be paid from Fire Departments Capital Outlay budget from
Account Number 101- 3020 - 422.70 -10.
