HomeMy WebLinkAbout09463RESOLUTION NO. 9463 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $18,550.00 TO JAY FURNEY CONSTRUCTION, AND SETTING FORTH $750.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TEST TANK PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for the Fire Department Test Tank Project have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal of Jay Furney Construction, of Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for the Fire Department Test Tank Project be, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $18,550.00. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in the section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND This project will construct an underground concrete tank at the Fire Department Training Site to facilitate the testing of the pump system on the City's Pumper trucks. The tank will be filled with approximately 10,000 gallons of water. The pumper truck will be connected to the tank and water will be drawn from the tank, through the truck's pump system and discharged back into the tank. Currently, water has to be drawn from a muddy pond, which contaminates the truck's pump system and storage tank. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds for this project will be paid from Fire Departments Capital Outlay budget from Account Number 101- 3020 - 422.70 -10. Attached is a bid summary showing the result of competitive bids on this project.
