HomeMy WebLinkAbout09447RESOLUTION NO. 9447 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A DEMOLITION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $37,412 TO DIRT N DEMO COMPANY, AND SETTING FORTH $13,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR 215 NORTH VICTORIA AVENUE AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for the Demolition of 215 North Victoria Avenue have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal of Dirt N Demo of Pueblo, Colorado, was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: .qFr.T1n1\1 1 The Contract for the Demolition of 215 North Victoria Avenue be, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder, in the amount of $37,412. .qFrT1nN 9 The Purchasing Agent be and is hereby authorized to execute the Contract on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the Seal of the City thereto and attest same. .qFrT1nN In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. Contingencies and Additional work - -- $13,000. SECTION 4 Funds in the amount of $50,412 shall be paid from Project Accounts EL0100 and CP0023. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution. BACKGROUND Demolition of the property at 215 North Victoria Avenue is necessary for the completion of the El Pueblo project. A portion of the building to be demolished has been transferred to the State of Colorado, Colorado Historical Society so the new El Pueblo Museum can be constructed. The remaining property will be developed into a public park/plaza and a parking lot. Funding for the demolition will be provided by a grant from the Economic Development Administration and from the balance of an account previously authorized for the acquisition and demolition for the El Pueblo project. Dirt N Demo Company is the successful bidder for the project. The award for the Contract is in the amount of $37,412 and a contingency of $13,000 has been estimated for additional work that may be needed such as structural fill material for unforeseen basement size and depth and a possible underground tank. The possible underground tank will be investigated as part of this Contract. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds in the amount of $50,412 shall be paid from Project Accounts ELO101 and CP0023.
