ISSUE

Pavement Preservation to apply slurry seal at the Pueblo Memorial Airport under State
Grants 00- 28 -9/7 and 01 -30 -10/9.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
On December 13, 1999, City Council approved a 2000 State Grant contract 00- 28 -9/7
under Resolution #8870. On April 9, 2001, City Council approved a 2001 State Grant
contract 01 -30 -10/9 under Resolution #9260. Both grants were for seal coating taxiway
and ramp pavement at the airport. The two grants were put out to bid together in order to
get a lower bid amount. The Div. of Aeronautics was in favor of this and did extend the
2000 grant until 2002.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The contract for Phase I (State Grant 00- 28 -9/7) is $60,000 and for Phase II (State Grant
01 -30 -10/9) is $66,000 for a total of $126,000. The State's portion is $92,000 and the
local match is $34,000, which was appropriated at the time the State Grant contracts were
approved.
