HomeMy WebLinkAbout09306RESOLUTION NO. 9306 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $37,030.30 TO MAINTENANCE CONTRACTORS OF COLORADO, INC., AND SETTING FORTH $12,969.70 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR THE 2001 HANDICAP CURB RAMPS PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for the 2001 Handicap Curb Ramps Project have been received and examined, and; WHEREAS, the proposal of Maintenance Contractors of Colorado, Inc., of Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION I. A contract for the 2001 Handicap Curb Ramps Project be, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $37,030.30. CFCTION The Purchasing Agent be, and she is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. fiFrTION I In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in the section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. BACKGROUND This project will construct approximately 17 new handicap curb ramps in the City's continuing effort to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ramps will be constructed at the locations indicated on the attached list. These locations were chosen because they are along bus routes. If no problems are encountered, an additional 3 or 4 more locations will be added from the contingency fund. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds for this project will be paid from Community Development Block Grant funds, Account Number 250- 9540- 600.80 -50, CD 0117.
