A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN EXTENSION REQUEST FOR GREAT
OUTDOORS COLORADO PROJECT GRANT NUMBER 8601 BETWEEN
PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND THE STATE BOARD OF
THE GREAT OUTDOORS COLORADO TRUST FUND RELATING TO
THE RUNYON COMMUTER TRAIL, PHASE III, AND AUTHORIZING THE
PRESIDENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE SAME
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The original Contract dated July 22, 1998, between Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the
State Board of the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund, a copy of which is on file in the office of the
City Clerk, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, has been approved.
SECTION 2.
The project is substantially complete. The extension request shall be for a period of six
months or until July 15, 2001.
SECTION 3.
The President of City Council is authorized to execute and deliver the extension request for
the Contract in the name of the City, and the City Clerk is directed to affix the seal of the City thereto
and attest same.
SECTION 4.
This resolution will become effective upon final passage.

Should the City Council approve an extension request for Great Outdoors Colorado Project
Contract Number 8601 between Pueblo, a municipal corporation, and the State Board of the
Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund relating to the Runyon Commuter Trail, Phase III project?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The Runyon Commuter Trail, Phase 3, Project consists of 1,000 linear feet of 10 foot wide
concrete trail that will complete the construction of the Runyon Trail from HARP to Runyon Lake.
The Grant request is in the amount for $25,000 from the Statue Board of the Great Outdoors
Colorado Trust Fund. The project is multi-funded and is substantially complete. The
construction contract is between Ideal Concrete, Inc. and the Colorado Department of
Transportation. The City of Pueblo has a Contract with CDOT to make payment for work
performed by Ideal Concrete, Inc.
The six month extension is necessary to allow CDOT to final out payment requests to the
contractor.
The other funding sources and amounts are the Pueblo Conservancy District - $29,000, Friends
of the River Trails - $ 30,000, State Trails Board - $25,000, and City in -kind - $5,000.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
A formal resolution must be submitted to Great Outdoors Colorado staff as soon as possible. If
a formal resolution is not submitted the grant will be de- authorized and no money will be
reimbursed to the City for the project.
