HomeMy WebLinkAbout09210RESOLUTION NO. 9210 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT TO CONSTRUCT A NEW AIRFIELD LIGHTING EQUIPMENT BUILDING AT PUEBLO MEMORIAL AIRPORT UNDER FEDERAL AIP GRANT PROJECT NO. 3 08 0046 20, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, bid proposals for the construction of a new airfield lighting equipment building have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal from TL Printz Contractors was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, THAT: SECTION 1 A contract to construct a new airfield lighting equipment building at Pueblo Memorial Airport be, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $190,765.42 plus 10% contingencies. The awarding of the contract for the project set forth herein shall be subject to the filing of sufficient sureties to be approved by the Purchasing Agent of said City. SECTION 2 The Purchasing Agent be, and is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND The Federal AIP Grant for this project was accepted by City Council on September 25, 2000 under Resolution No. 9118. This project was advertised for bids and TL Printz Contractors was the lowest responsible bidder. The project consists of the construction of a new airfield lighting equipment building. The current building was built in 1958 and does not meet the current National Electrical Code, FINANCIAL IMPACT The total amount of the project is $190,765.42 plus 10% for contingencies. The federal portion is 90% and the local match is 10 %.
