BACKGROUND
This resolution will approve a construction contract for the widening the William White
Boulevard Bridge at the Pueblo Memorial Airport Industrial Park to match the roadway widths
of the approaches on both sides, thereby eliminating a bottle -neck for traffic at the bridge. A
sidewalk will also be added to the south side of the bridge. Construction is scheduled to begin
in January and be completed by June of 2001.
The low bid came in $47,188 over the engineer's estimate. The design and construction
administration costs, bid amount, contingency funds and direct costs to the CDOT are now
estimated to be $674,500. The $56,400 difference between the previously estimated total cost of
$618,100 and the current estimate of $674,500 will be paid from the Highway Users Tax Fund
(HUTF). The City's required match for this project is now estimated to be $320,132.
