HomeMy WebLinkAbout09186RESOLUTION NO. 9186 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUEBLO TRANSIT TO ACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO PARTICIPATING IN THE COLORADO ASSOCIATION OF TRANSIT AGENCIES COALITION FOR SECURING FEDERAL TRANSIT SECTION 5309 FUNDS. WHEREAS, the Colorado Association of Transit Agencies has formed a coalition of state transit properties to secure Federal Transit Administration Section 5309 discretionary funds, and WHEREAS, Pueblo Transit is a member of the Colorado Association of Transit Agencies, and WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo desires to seek $1,000,000 for the replacement of five (5) motor buses that do not meet ADA requirements, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1 Pueblo Transit is authorized to participate in the Colorado Transit Coalition. SECTION 2 Pueblo Transit Administration is authorized to sign on behalf of the City of Pueblo any necessary documents that are required by the Coalition, and SECTION 3 Pueblo Transit is authorized to expend up to $4,031 as their proportional share to related coalition costs based on the percentage of the total statewide request, with funds being paid from account 515. 1710 - 492.64 -01, Dues and Subscriptions. BACKGROUND: An application for $1,000,000 was submitted to FTA for Capital discretionary funding on behalf of the City of Pueblo for fiscal year 2000 in collaboration with the Colorado Transit Coalition. A grant in the amount of $232,000 has been awarded to the City of Pueblo for the purpose of procuring transit vehicles, one (1) 27 -foot accessible transit coach, and two (2) accessible Paratransit vans. In order to expedite and simplify the procurement of one (1) 27 -foot transit coach, Pueblo Transit requested an available option from the Berks Area Reading Transportation Authority ( BARTA). BARTA has officially authorized the assigning of one option to the City of Pueblo. The purchase of the Paratransit vans will be handled through the normal procurement procedures. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of Resolution. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The anticipated budget for this project is $307,000. The Federal share will be $232,000. To complete the project a local match of $74,869 is required. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION GRANT AGREEMENT (FTA G -7, October 1, 2000) Upon execution of this Grant Agreement by the Grantee named below, the Grantee affirms the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Award covering the Project described below and records its entry into this Grant Agreement with FTA. The following documents are incorporated by reference and made part of this Grant Agreement: (1) "Federal Transit Administration Master Agreement," FTA MA(7), October 1, 2000 [Internet Address: http: / /www.fta. dot.gov/library/legal /agreements /2001 /ma.htmlj; and (2) Any Award notification containing special conditions or requirements, if issued.
