HomeMy WebLinkAbout09072RESOLUTION NO. 9072 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER AND APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FROM THE CITY CEMETERY ENDOWMENT FUND TO THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE PROCUREMENT AND INSTALLATION OF ANY AUTOMATED IRRIGATION SYSTEM AND THE ACQUISITION OF MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT AT MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY WHEREAS, on April 10, 2000 City Council approved Addendum No. 1 to the Mountain View Cemetery Management Agreement; and WHEREAS, Addendum No. 1, subject to the appropriation of City Council, made available $250,000 from the City Endowment Fund for the purpose of installing an automated irrigation system in the old portion of Mountain View Cemetery and replacement of cemetery maintenance equipment for Mountain View Cemetery; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO that: Section 1. The amount of $250,000 is hereby appropriated from the City Endowment Fund to the City Capital Improvement Fund for the purpose of procuring an automated irrigation system in the old portion of Mountain View Cemetery and replacing cemetery maintenance equipment for Mountain View Cemetery. Section 2. The cemetery automated irrigation system project and the replacement of cemetery maintenance equipment will be performed in accordance with the City of Pueblo ordinances governing contracts tar City improvements and the procurement of supplies, materials and equipment. Section 3 The City Council hereby finds and determines that the use of the Endowment Fund for automated irrigation system and maintenance equipment as herein provided is in furtherance of the perpetual care and upkeep of Mountain View Cemetery Annexes 1 and 2. Section 4. This resolution will become effective upon final passage. THE PROCUREMENT AND INSTALLATION OF AN AUTOMATED IRRIGATION SYSTEM AND THE ACQUISITION OF MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT AT MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY. ISSUE: Should City Council approve a Resolution authorizing the transfer and appropriation of funds from the Cemetery Endowment Fund to the City Capital Improvement Fund for the purpose of procuring and installing an automated irrigation system in the old portion of Mountain View Cemetery and replacing certain cemetery maintenance equipment. BACKGROUND: On April 10, 2000, City Council approved Addendum No. 1 to the Mountain View Cemetery Management Agreement which included a provision that the City would make available $250,000 from the City Cemetery Endowment Fund for improvements to the cemetery which would include an automated irrigation system in the old portion of the cemetery and replacement of cemetery maintenance equipment. Addendum No. 1 states that City Council has to appropriate these funds for the above stated purposes. This resolution authorizes the transfer and appropriation of $250,000 from the Cemetery Endowment Fund to the City Capital Improvement Fund for the improvements. The automated irrigation system project will be put out for competitive bids as a City improvement project and the procurement of the maintenance equipment will be coordinated through the City Purchasing Department. f'INANCIA IM PACT: The amount of $250,000 will be transferred from the City Cemetery Endowment Fund to the City Capital Improvement Fund.
