HomeMy WebLinkAbout09024RESOLUTION NO. 9024 A RESOLUTION TABULATING THE VOTE OF THE CITY COUNCIL RELATING TO AMENDMENT TO THE STATEWIDE DEFINED BENEFIT PLAN FOR NEW HIRES IN THE PUEBLO POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the City Council of Pueblo voted on May 22, 2000 concerning whether to approve an amendment to the Statewide Defined Benefit Plan for New Hires in the Pueblo Police Department, and WHEREAS, the vote was tabulated and the results thereof are set forth in this Resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1 The City Council finds that the members of the City Council voted on May 22, 2000 whether to approve the proposed modification to the Statewide Defined Benefit Plan for New Hires in the Pueblo Police Department, which modification is set forth in Resolution No. 2000 -2 of the Board of Directors of the Fire and Police Pension Association ( "FPPA ") and would increase retirement benefits to 2% of the average of the member's highest three years' base salary for the first ten years of service plus 2.5% of the average of the member's highest three years' base salary for each additional year of service thereafter, with the estimated additional cost of the amendment estimated by FPPA to be equal to 5.03% of annual pay. Upon tabulation of the votes, there were: 7 "Yes" votes in favor of approval of the amendment and 0 "No" votes against approval of the amendment. An Amendment receiving four (4) or more "Yes" votes shall be deemed to have been approved by the City Council.
