Title: A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE
CONTRACT FOR STORM SEWER
SEPARATION PROJECT NO. 00 -038
Department: WASTEWATER DEPARTMENT
ISSUE
Agenda Item #
Date: May 8, 2000
Should the City Council award a construction contract to Jay Furney Construction Co.,
for the construction of storm sewer lines in the City of Pueblo for $190,371.70.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the Resolution.
BACKGROUND
At the completion of the sanitary sewer collection systems monitoring and evaluation, it
was determined that the storm sewer in portions of the City remain connected to the
sanitary sewer system.
This condition causes excessive maintenance, overload to the wastewater treatment
plant, and the added expense of treating storm water. In an effort to correct these
problems and extend the life of the wastewater treatment plant, a storm sewer
separation project has been prepared. This includes the 300 and 400 blocks of
Baystate Avenue, 100 block of Grand Avenue, and the 500 block of South Santa Fe
Avenue. A location map showing the project locations, and a bid summary are
attached for your information.
FINANCIAL
The project will be financed by the Sewer Users Fee Fund. The project will be funded
from Account Number 525 - 4140 - 432.70 -10 (WW0004).
