HomeMy WebLinkAbout09000RESOLUTION NO. 9000 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND PROVIDING FOR THE EXECUTION OF GRANT AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO AND THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) CONCERNING THE YEAR 2000 "HOME PROGRAM" AND "COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM" AND THE FUNDING THEREFORE WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pueblo, on January 24, 2000, approved by Resolution 8900 a grant application to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for HOME Federal Housing Program and Community Development Block Grant Program funds for the year 2000; and WHEREAS, the city of Pueblo was officially notified on April 17, 2000, that the funding requests have been approved. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION I. The City Council of the City of Pueblo approves the attached agreements B- 00 -MC -08 -0007 in the amount of $1,882,000 and M00 -DC -08 -0205 in the amount of $992,000. SUMMARY A. Issue: Approving the funding agreement dated April 17, 2000 received from Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the year 2000 CDBG and HOME Activities and having the President of City Council execute same. B. Recommendation: Approve and sign the agreements allowing the availability of the federal funds for the year 2000 to the City of Pueblo. IL BACKGROUND The City of Pueblo submitted in February 2000 a Federal application for CDBG and HOME funds for the year 2000. The city received notice that HUD has approved five Year Consolidated Plan and funding request. III. FINANCIAL IMPACT The amount of the Community Development Block Grant funds to be allocated to the City of Pueblo in 2000 is $1,882,000 and approximately $992,000 in HOME funds. IV. ALTERNATIVES A. The Community Planning and Development (CPD) grant assistance that is being approved along with the plan totals $2,874,000 for Fiscal Year 2000. The City of Pueblo, Colorado, will receive the official grant documents in a separate package. The Department of Housing and Urban Development is committed to working in partnership with you to promote a more comprehensive vision of community development, improve the planning and coordination in the use of these funds and simplify and consolidate the application and reporting requirements.
