A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PUEBLO TO
SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE FRANCIS PARK
ENHANCEMENT PROJECT TO THE STATE BOARD OF THE
GREAT OUTDOORS COLORADO TRUST FUND, AND
AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL TO EXECUTE
SAME
WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo supports the Francis Park Enhancement Project and grant
application to the State Board of Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund; and
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:
SECTION 1
The President of the City Council is hereby authorized to execute and deliver the grant application
for the park improvements at Francis Park, on behalf of the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, to the
State Board of Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and
attest same.
SECTION 2
The grant request is for $119,000, with the City of Pueblo obligating up to $119,000 as cash match
from the City's Capital Improvements Fund - Account No. 401 - 0000 - 600.70 -10 CP 0011.
SECTION 3
A copy of the grant application is on file at the City of Pueblo's Department of Planning and
Development.

ISSUE: Should City Council authorize the president of City Council to resubmit a grant
application to the State Board of the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund's "Local
Government Program" for the Francis Park Enhancement Project?
BACKGROUND: The City of Pueblo's Department of Planning and Development is
requesting approval to submit a $119,000 grant application to the Great Outdoors Colorado
Trust Fund for park improvements at Francis Park, located near Outlook Boulevard and
Fortino Boulevard. The project will consist of irrigated grass areas, park trees, ADA
accessible playground structures, entry sign, and a concrete pathway. The park site is
currently undeveloped.
The estimated budget for the Francis Park Project is as follows:
$ 119,000 Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund
$ 119,000 City of Pueblo Cash Match
$ 15,000 Private Cash Match
$ 253,000 TOTAL COST
RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The City of Pueblo will obligate up to $119,000 in cash match
from the City's Capital Improvements Fund - Account No. 401 - 0000 - 600.70 -10 CP 0011.
